There are two evening meetings per month, which are held at the Ken-Rock Community Center at 3218-11th Street, Rockford, IL.
The first meeting is on the first Tuesday and is an open carving meeting from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Join the gang and bring your friends
The second meeting is on the third Tuesday, October 18th and is the business meeting, starting at 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Every Wednesday is open carving from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Come and join the gang, bring a friend! Enjoy a taco.

All our meetings are aimed at enjoying one another passion for woodcarving. Always there is a lot of carving information traded back and forth, and of course the life interest stories, "three for a dollar" are worth the gas mileage and time.
September meeting notes

The Blackhawk Woodcarvers Monthly Business Meeting was called to order by Secretary Roger Benedict. Old minutes were read and approved. The Treasurers report was read and approved.
Old Business
Picnic reminder was noted for Tuesday, September 13th.
Autumn Fest at Klehm Arboretum was noted for Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th. We have seven carvers for Saturday and five for Sunday.
New Business
Don Stansfield announced that he would volunteer a carving session for the November business meeting. Will be a Christmas ornament. Everyone must bring carving tools.
The August show was brought up again, with concerns for the Quilt not being in the show. Also we need more directional signs for the judging room. For next year's show Lloyd Dourest moved that "we have the show again at Klehm Arboretum at a date that the board chooses in the best interest for our club." Motion was seconded and passed.
Gordy Moscinski reminded everyone to turn in their survey sheets to determine what the members want from the club. Gordy also asked for interest in a three-day carving class for $120 conducted by Steadman Studies. There was no interest due to costs that would have to include room rental, and having the class on workdays that would be undesirable for those who are not retired.
Roger Benedict described a pumpkin carving night for the next business meeting.
Don Stansfield---Handed out a sheet depicting a brain of a chip carver that identified several known yet humorous traits of a carver.
Gordy Moscinski---A painted low relief with burned-in accents from a carving class he recently attended.
John Wacker----A bird for his son's Christmas present
Roger Benedict---A relief for the Harmony Singing Society
Marshall Field---Very tiny cedar treble cliffs to be made into ear rings.
