The 2008 carving show location is now officially at the Tabala Shriner Center. Judy Emerson of the Rockford Registrar Star has committed to assuring that our monthly meetings will be posted in the Go Section. John Wacker reported on both of the above activities. The question of making a quilt for the Sight & Hearing Organization was tabled for the January meeting. Also tabled for the January meeting was Gordon Moscinski’s suggestion of carving a tree for a friend of his.
New Business:
The nomination committee presented their slate for election of officers and was approved as follows:

o Treasurer, John Wacker
o Secretary, Gary Lundquist
Gordon Moscinski will conduct a
class, in the near future, about carving a flute. More details from
Gordie will be forthcoming.
The evening was completed with shared dishes of deserts, chili, and pizza. And
of course the stories went on and on.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm

CLEARING OFF THE BENCH
The time is upon me to gracefully end my editorial duties with the newsletter. It was a surprise to review my records and discover it has been exactly seven years writing the club’s newsletter. Every single one was a pleasure and without any incidents. I have been grateful for the positive feedback during this time. As I think about the 84 issues; wow it now overwhelms me. However I enjoyed every minute of the writing, printing, and mailing. Meanwhile, the monthly newsletter will be in good hands with Tod Wisner, who has agreed to continue the newsletter. I know with his humor & wit you will enjoy receiving the future news.
Keep your tools sharp,
Roger benedict
